  Thanks to the proceeds Night of Too Many Stars, NEXT launched a grants program in 2008 with the mission of impacting autistic individuals today by supporting autism programs and services nationwide. In recent years NEXT has added a focus on programs that reach transitional age and adult populations, which are often underfunded as well as championing autistic led and centered initiatives. Our team is inspired by the amazing organizations that are providing enriching opportunities for autistic adults throughout the U.S.

• In 2023 NEXT launched NEXT for AUTISM FELLOWS, an employment-based scholarship opportunity for students enrolled in a health and human services-related field of study, with an interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals as a Direct Support Professional (DSP). The need for qualified DSPs is high, given a waitlist for services and support that exceeds 482,000 adults with autism and intellectual disabilities. The NEXT for AUTISM FELLOWS program provides financial scholarships to qualified students while also ensuring new DSPs enter the workplace to support autistic adults.
